Biographical Information

I am a limnologist and aquatic ecologist.  My primary research interests include food-web interactions, particularly those involving zooplankton and planktivorous fish. For my doctoral research, I studied predatory zooplankton and their impact on the composition and size structure of the zooplankton communities. During my postdoctoral research, I was involved in a project to restore the plankton community of alpine lakes previously stocked with trout.  I also worked on a project  to characterize the biological diversity in all mountain lakes of Banff National Park, Canada.  I am currently involved in a comparative study of yellow perch larval recruitment in Lake Michigan and Crystal Lake, MI.  I am also director of the newly created Michigan Water Research Center at Central Michigan University.
