In this on-line workshop, you will find many movie clips. Each movie clip will demonstrate some specific usage of SPSS.

Frequencies

This procedure gives frequency tables with three submenus, which are:

bullet

Statistics:  This submenu allows users to choose various of descriptive measures such as average, median, standard deviation, percentiles, and so on

bullet

Charts: This submenu provides Bar charts and Pie charts for categorical data.

bullet

Format: This submenu allows users to define the format of the output.

Descriptives:

This is usually for continuous data.

This procedure gives options of computing descriptive measurements such as mean, variance, std. deviation, and so on.

Explore

This procedure gives several graphical presentation and descriptive measurements. It has three submenus:

bullet

Statistics: This submenu gives descriptive measurements that are also available in the Descriptive Procedure.

bullet

Plots: This submenu gives several graphical plots for any selected variable. These plots include Stem-Leaf plot,   histogram and Normality plot. They are useful for checking if a variable follows Normality assumption for further analysis.

bullet

Options: This submenu allows users to decide how the missing data will be treated.

Crosstabs

This procedure is for exploring the relationship between two or more categorical variables in crosstabulation form. This procedure has three submenus:

bullet

Statistics: This submenu provides many statistical tests that are used for categorical data analysis, including Chi-squared test, Spearman correlation and many others.

bullet

Cells: This submenu allows users to choose the information for output.

bullet

Format: This submenu allows users to choose the order of the category in the output.
