1.  Logon to a computer in PE 422 with your user ID and password.  (If you don't know what it is you can ask at the desk in 422)

2.  Click on START at the bottom of the desktop.

3.  Click on PROGRAMS.

4.  Choose MINITAB FOR WINDOWS.

5.  Click on MINITAB at right.  (You will get a split screen.)

6.  Under the FILE menu click on OPEN WORKSHEET.  (not OPEN PROJECT)

7.  In the dialog box choose MY COMPUTER.

8.  Click on GENERAL ON 'CCSERVER1' (G) and open it

9.  Scroll all the way to the right and click on the LANFEAR folder

10.  Click on the MINITAB folder.

11.  Drop down to MINITAB PORTABLE (*.MTP)

12.  Choose the exercise you wish to do.  (All the exercises in the book with a significant number of data are there.  For example, Ex0114.mtp contains the data for chapter 1 problem 14 on page 29.)

13.  Open it either by double clicking or by using the OPEN on the dialog box.

14.  Choose OK to put the data into the worksheet.

15.  Now you are ready to use the MiniTab commands.

16.  Don't forget to logoff when you are through.
