The functional unit
in biological systems is the living cell. This unit of instruction
involves developing an understanding of atoms, molecules and membrane
bound organelles, all of which are significant in cell structure
and function.
The material in this
unit is somewhat more difficult than previous units of study, in
large part because it will require you to master a lot of terminology-much
of which is unfamiliar to you.

I
am confident, however, that if you will spend a minimum of 10-15 minutes
a day reviewing this material and master the study goals and notes
provided, you will have a high level of success. I encourage you to
use these web page study aids prior to coming to class-lectures will
be more meaningful if you come with some level of familiarity. |
