Paper Guidelines for Indoor Humidity Study

Introduction

  1. Statement of problem

  2. What did you believe you would find when we first discussed the project?

  3. Study justification (why is it important that you answer the problem statement?)

Supporting Literature

  1. Emphasizing the low humidity literature, place your context of previous research.  This section is a summary of the most important previous research as it relates to your study. Focus on studies that specifically address humidity.

  2. Did anyone ever look at humidity levels in student housing before?

  3. If not, what studies are similar? Humidity in daycare facilities, K-12?

  4. Discuss the humidity diagram on your poster.  Elaborate on the health impact of low humidity.

  5. Relate low humidity to your future field of employment.

Methods

  1. Briefly discuss Kestrel accuracy and how it works.

  2. What was the rationale for your selected data collection intervals.

  3. Where was your unit placed and why.

  4. Discuss statistical procedures.

  5. How did the data collection procedure compare with literature cited above?

Discussion

  1. Using graphs you created, discuss the significant patterns emerging from your study.

  2. Create new tables, charts, or graphs and explain their significance.  Base these graphs on what your have gleaned from your own data, comments made by interested parties at SCRCEE, and your literature review.  You might want to consider summarizing your data with a new sampling interval or focusing only on your residence instead of the groups.

Conclusions

  1. Summarize the top three findings of your study.

  2. What are study limitations?

  3. How could the study be improved in case someone wants to continue this type of analysis?

  4. What questions remain unanswered?
