SUCCESS IN THIS CLASS (SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE)
Managing Time:
-Establish
a written plan (outline) of study for each of your classes.
-Frequent periods of short, intense study are best for most people.
-Review and/or recopy your notes as soon as possible after class.
-Take advantage of time between classes to read, review, take notes, etc.
-Don't wait until the end to begin projects, papers, or written assignments.
-Schedule time for yourself as a reward
Study Skills:
-It
is best to read the textbook assignments before class.
-Pay attention to the end of chapter summaries, questions, and key terms.
-Study lecture notes and textbooks together.
-When taking notes, abbreviate and save space on the page to show how things
are related.
General Class Survival:
-Plan
your schedule with thoughts about class location, time, and study.
-Get a doctor's excuse, Sheriff’s note (if in jail), etc., if you are unable
to take a test.
-When dropping a class, be sure to fill out all necessary forms.
-Know your professor's office location and office hours.
-Use opportunities in class and during office hours to ask questions.
-Make notes of hints on how to study the material.
-Class attendance is important in both lecture and laboratory.
