          5. Compare/contrast the basic english and metric units

           

C. Evolution:  A Unifying Theme in biology

1. Describe the importance of Darwin's travels on the Beagle to his development of evolutionary thought.

2. Describe the two observations that led Darwin to his conclusion.  State this conclusion.

3. List and explain the four general points that Darwin makes in The Origin of Species.

4. Explain how changes in the peppered moth populations illustrate natural selection.

5. Compare artificial and natural selection, noting similarities and differences.
