Jozefaciuk & Rutkowski Mathematics Scholarship

 

 

As a tribute to Frank & Rita Jozefaciuk, and Irene Rutkowski, their family created the Frank & Rita Jozefaciuk and Aunt Irene Rutkowski Endowed Award in 2005.

 

The number, amount and recipient(s) of the Scholarship will be determined by the Mathematics Department in consultation with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

 

Eligibility

 

A recipient must be a junior or senior with a math major, a Michigan resident, U.S. citizen and have a minimum GPA of 3.4. Engineering, pure mathematics, computer science and statistics students are also eligible.

 

Selection of students to be awarded this scholarship will be made by a committee composed of the Chairman of the Department of Mathematics and such other persons as the Chair may designate. The decision will be made on the basis of

 

            a.         two professional references,

            b.        grades in university/college courses, especially mathematics,

            c.         university/college mathematics courses completed,

            d.         a paragraph written by the student, and

            e.         other factors.

 

To apply, an eligible student should

 

a.              complete a Mathematics Scholarship Application form*,

b.              list the names and email addresses of two (2)

           professional references on your application form.

*Please submit only ONE application form even if you are applying for more than one of the Mathematics Scholarships.
