How do I get to use it?

Good question!

Are you an undergraduate student in geology? If you are and you have a legitimate research problem that you feel you need to have microprobe data for, drop me a line and provide me with a short (1-3 page) proposal outlining your research project, it's significance, why you need microprobe data, and what you will ultimately do with your research (present it at a meeting? publish it? put it on a shelf?). You should also have your faculty advisor contact me. We anticipate allowing several undergraduates from outside CMU to use the microprobe each year.

Are you a graduate student in geology at any university in the State of Michigan? The above procedure may work for you too.
