of Geology College of Science & Technology Central Michigan University
Research Program and Goals: Patrick Kinnicutt received his S.B. (’89), S.M. (’91) and Ph.D. (’95) degrees from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His doctoral degree was granted in the field of Information Technology in Civil Engineering, with his dissertation titled A Decision Support Framework for Planning Geotechnical Engineering Programs. From 1995 until June 2003, Patrick Kinnicutt has been employed as a senior software engineer at Schlumberger Technology Corporation, developing commercial data analysis and geostatistical modeling applications for creating 3D geologic facies and petrophysical models of petroleum reservoirs. Patrick Kinnicutt’s research interests include geostatistical algorithm development and modeling, uncertainty analysis and educational software development. His research interests also include data visualization and the application of decision support systems in engineering and scientific domains, as well as spatial data mining.
