Undergraduate Research

Geology students in the Sonoma Range of Nevada, 1996.

The Faculty of the CMU Department of Geology are strongly involved in and supportive of "hands-on" field- and laboratory-based research experiences for undergraduates. Such experiences often take place in upper-level geology courses and reach their culmination for many geology majors in the form of independent study courses (GEL 597) and as Senior Thesis (GEL 406) studies.
