Mission Statement

The Department of Biology strives to offer a challenging and integrated program of field and laboratory experiences that attracts and fosters motivated students. In so doing, the faculty provide quality instruction, maintain active research programs, and cultivate professional opportunities.

• Outcome 1: Undergraduate students who are prepared for admission to professional and graduates schools, secure placement in their field of training, and demonstrate success in the workplace.

• Outcome 2: Distinctive graduate programs preparing students for careers in academics, industry and government.

• Outcome 3: A curriculum in modern biology supported by quality instruction, technology and adequate resources.
