When to visit the SCC
The SCC encourages clients to visit the Center early in a research project, particularly in the grant writing and research design stages. The currect Center Director has wide experience in external grants, particularly with the NIH and several private foundations, and knows what kinds of statistical methods are acceptable in these grants.
Graduate students are welcome to visit the SCC as long as they are accompanied by their advisors. Please note that the SCC does not, however, offer advice for classroom instruction.
The public is also welcome to visit the SCC.

Consulting
The SCC jointly reports to the Dean of the College of Science and Technology and the Vice Provost for Research. In addition, a Center Advisory Board is being created to represent the interests of the respective colleges and their particular statistical consulting requirements.
Basic statistical consulting
All clients receive two free hours of consultation annually. Historically, this has been enough time to complete about eighty percent of projects. After two hours, there is a charge of $70 per hour.
Grant development
Assistance in writing grants is usually provided free of charge with the expectation that the submitted grant contain a budget line item for future statistical consulting.
