STRC Life
The Residential College is dedicated to helping you succeed in your science, mathematics, engineering and technology studies. You will live in Woldt Residence Hall with other students who have similar interests, and benefit from study groups and early registration for CST classes. You will participate in many activities that let you explore academic interests, including seminars, overnight field trips, research nights, and faculty-student dinners where you can learn about programs of study, internships and future careers.
We offer a limited number of freshmen the opportunity to participate in the STRC. There are no additional fees for living in the Residential College. In addition, the STRC is an alcohol, tobacco and substance-free environment.

Who can live in Woldt Residence Hall as a member of the STRC?
Any student admitted to CMU who has an interest in the sciences, engineering, technology or mathematics is encouraged to apply to live in the STRC. This includes students who intend to major in any of the fields (listed below), or any of the teacher education, interdisciplinary or preprofessional programs in the college.
The CMU Office of Residence Life will send a "Living Guide" to all students who are admitted to CMU. The guide contains a general application for on-campus housing as well as a specific application form for the Science and Technology Residential College. Both of these forms should be completed and returned to the Office of Residence Life.
Applications should be submitted early since space is limited!
Admission may be dependent upon date of receipt of application forms.
