Michigan Medical Schools
Within the state the University of Michigan
and Wayne State University have allopathic medical schools and Michigan
State University has an osteopathic and allopathic medicine college.
Entering classes begin each fall semester. Application should be
made approximately one year prior to expected enrollment. Medical
schools recommend a program that will both meet minimum requirements for
medical school and provide a broad academic training. A good grade
point average is essential since admissions are highly competitive.
All students must take at least:
Physics with lab (1 year)
Chemistry with lab (1 year of organic and 1 year of inorganic)
English (1 year)
Biology with lab (1.5 years)
Psychology (1 course)
Sociology (1 course)
