Special Admission
Requirements
Experience in the Field
Architectural students are not required to
complete any internship or log hours while at CMU. The architectural program
provides that experience possibility (optional) at the transfer institution
and students should NOT take that kind of experience here at CMU as part of
their pre-professional program. Students planning to go into Architecture
may be required to present a portfolio and/or complete an associated essay.
Work experience in a related field could be helpful in preparing either of
these two exhibits.
Special Examinations & Required License
No special examinations are generally
required for admission to the architectural schools. The
architectural schools review the quality and content of all previous
academic education, personal statements of professional purpose, and
letters of recommendation. A number of architectural schools may
require an architectural related essay and/or a portfolio of art and
architectural related projects. All states require architects to be
licensed. A series of professional examinations must be
successfully completed in addition to three years of successful work
experience to become a licensed architect.
