Fall 2008 Highlights

  • The Central Michigan University chapter of the American Chemical Society Student Affiliates (ACSSA) has received an Outstanding Chapter Award for its 2007-2008 activities, along with a Green Chemistry Award.

    The Outstanding Chapter Award recognizes CMU's ACSSA group for having a full schedule of well-attended events, as well as their participation in exceptional activities, programs, and initiatives that impact their members, fellow chapters, the Student Affiliates Program, the public, and the greater chemistry community.


    The ACS Green Chemistry Institute recognizes CMU's ACSSA chapter for making exemplary contributions in green chemistry in an effort to increase implementation of green chemistry technologies.

    The chapter will be recognized in the November/December issue of in Chemistry magazine (the official publication of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society) and at the ACS Student Affiliates Chapter Award Ceremony that will be held at the 237th ACS National Meeting held from March 22 - March 26, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
