| Ghada Ibrahim, a graduate student in the data mining certificate program, has been selected to present her poster at SAS' 11th Annual Data Mining Conference M2008 that will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 27-28. |
| The M2008 Data Mining Conference is an international educational conference and exhibition for data mining practitioners including analysts, statisticians, programmers, consultants, and anyone involved with data management. It is the world's largest data mining conference, attracting over 700 people from various industries including Financial Services, Retail, Insurance, Technology, Education, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Government and more. M2008's poster session showcases the innovative ways of applying data mining to real-world applications. |
| Ibrahim's poster - "What Makes Democracy Possible?" - was accomplished under the direction of her advisors, Dr. Carl Lee (Professor of Statistics) and Dr. Moataz Fattah (Associate Professor of Political Science). The M2008 competition committee selected her poster as one of the top five winning projects. Ibrahim will receive an award and have her travel expenses covered for her trip to Las Vegas where she will present her poster at the conference. |
