The CST Distinguished Alumni Award annually recognizes a graduate or former student for his or her outstanding achievements. Nominees for the award should have demonstrated significant accomplishments in their professions, in business or in public service. Recipients are recognized at a college ceremony.

Mission

The purpose of the CST Alumni Advisory Board is to advise the College of Science and Technology on matters bearing on the activities of the college, including its educational programming.

The Board assists CST with building and maintaining strong ties with regional industries, businesses, civic agencies and organizations. It also helps with promoting CST's mission to local, state and federal entities.

In addition, the CST Alumni Advisory Board advises and assists with building and maintaining an effective development effort to support the programs and initiatives of the College of Science and Technology.

Membership

The CST Alumni Advisory Board normally consists of 15-20 members, who each serve two-year renewable terms. Members are appointed by the Dean, and the Board is encouraged to recommend candidates for membership.

The CST Dean and Director of Development are ex-officio members.

CST Distinguished Alumni Award
Selection Committee

Central Michigan University is proud of the growing number of alumni and is able to recognize their achievements by bestowing a variety of awards upon them. The College of Science and Technology (CST) honors an alumnus each year who has significantly contributed to their field of endeavor, exhibited exemplary leadership, and benefits society as a whole with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Members of the CST Distinguished Alumni Award Selection Committee examine biographical information submitted for each nominee. Committee members also utilize a spreadsheet tool to apply weighted scores for each of the criteria categories. Members discuss each nominee's achievements and consider their respective scores during the process of selecting the Distinguished Alumni Award winner(s).

The College of Science and Technology Alumni Advisory Board members encourage you to submit nominations for the CST Distinguished
Alumni Award.

Meetings

The membership of the CST Alumni Advisory Board meets semi-annually to review reports from the Dean, provide recommendations to the Dean regarding operations of the college, and provide for future activities of the Board.

Meetings normally occur during the Fall Homecoming celebration and again during the Spring semester. Additional meetings will be scheduled as needed.
